Rotate that tank 180 degrees. If it leaks, with the fill nozzle on the right it is an extreme fire hazard if gas spills on your exhaust.

Please excuse my ignorance but everyone talks about putting Seafoam into the crankcase. Where the heck is that?! Do I pour Seafoam into the same hole that I pour the oil when doing an oil change? Or somewhere else (the crankcase whatever that is)? Basically I just want to know where the heck to pour Seafoam into on my bike. Everybody talks about adding it to the crankcase but they never show where/how they do that. Please tell me. Thank you !

Just picked up a new 2022 raven with 0k on it about 3 weeks ago. Been riding to work daily, already 360k in and 1oil change. Shes great, smoother than when i bought her now that the engine and tires are getting worn in a little bit. 60mi trip up to the MI dispensary last week and she did it gracefully 💪😁 yeah im on the Chonda bike bandwagon 😅

A very simple fix for the brake pedal hitting the case, is to zip tie a piece of plastic on the pedal, it can be a surplus piece of dirtbike body work plastic. Zip tie it on so it sits flat where it would hit case. Its worked for me trailriding for years. Steering dampers ONLY do something when a rock is hit and a super sharp impact is transmitted . Otherwise they arent doing anything. They dont keep your bike straight just going down the road. If you have one of these dampers set tight enough to feel it all the time it is set WAY too tight.

A little late to this convo but I'll add my thoughts. I have both bikes, the 450L for about a year and half and just recently bought a 2024 300L. These two bikes really should not be considered in the same category as 450L is an aggressive power monster and quite scary sometimes and the 300L is in no way anxiety inducing. Unless someone is just naturally good at riding motorcycles I would not suggest the 450L for any beginner, it still gives me the heebee jeebees and I've been on it a lot. I change oil about every 800-1200 miles, oil always looks fine. I change filters often. Changing oil is a 10 minute job, trivial in fact. With the mods I've done over time it's quite a bit more powerful then stock, and sometimes that's a big disadvantage for me. Plus it has a super strong sub-frame you can put a lot of weight on if you want to BDR, etc. The 300L on the other hand is very beginner friendly and I have to say even for me is very fun and comfortable. And the more I ride it the more I look forward to riding it! :D I live in the high desert next to the Cascades and it has performed great in rocky sand and high mountain rugged stuff, albeit much slower then the 450L. Oh yeah, and still completely stock. I just received the Acerbis 3.6 gal tank so that will add even more ride time and I will have to deal with the suspension at some point but now it's fine. To finish, and aggressive rider, or one who likes aggressive power, will love the 450L. It doesn't like slow, technical single-track, but will demolish anything else. The 300L is perfect for someone who likes more casual riding and wants to get adventurous from time to time. I enjoy just cruising around back roads and exploring trails without fear of getting into trouble! 😄

It’s 2024, just picked a 2023 up for 2499.99 Best Buy I’ve ever made. Yeah it’s not a 100+ mph bike, but for a comuter, to and from work, to appointments seeing family fantastic. Just fast enough to be trouble, not fast enough for license revoking haha. Rides like a dirt bike made for the street. It’s a fun ride (coming from a f4i rider) Duke200 👍🏻👍🏻

Ultra expensive bike that seemingly need s lots of upgrades!!! according to this post. If you like spending lots of cash is a good bike. Get yourself a self limiting DR or KLR kids, that are more reliable and cheaper on all levels. They are not "ready to race" for a good reason- they last longer and you don't need to break the bank for upgrades. You will still enjoy your riding i can guarantee. Just some thoughts from an old experienced adventure rider.

Hi Joe, I'm on my way to San Antonio. To test ride at 690 I got a couple questions for you. I've been the big band the first time I went. I was on Africa twin and honestly. A lot of those roads were not much fun. Everyone else were on 2 50s. How does your 690 behave in those rough roads? At Big Bend. I saw another video where you took yours and a friend of yours rode 250. Period how do those two compare on the really sketchy stuff?

I bought the XR 650 L brand new for 2022. Its an amazing bike. I bought it mainly for its looks. I love the 90s look and it does anything you want it to do. I wanted one since I was a child and it’s everything I thought it would be. I will ride it for years to come.

I have that same Harbor Freight case on my Super Tenere, it works great and costs peanuts. Dunno if I would want that case swatting me in the ass while riding off road on my Husky 701 though. I run a Tusk 10L soft bag strapped to the stock handholds with ROK straps, works great and it is a soft swat when it hits me in the ass - LOL My 701 Enduro is a '23 model and is Rottweiler kitted with Yosh exhaust. It runs great with stout power from off idle to the high revs. Even 61 year old me can do a fat 2nd gear throttle up (no clutch) power wheelie on it, and I'm in thin air land Denver at mile high elevation. It has be really be entertaining at sea level! ua-cam.com/video/-jFsxomJMsg/v-deo.html I seem to be in the minority with this opinion, but I feel these bikes are geared quite short. Cruising at 70 on the freeway has the RPM "up there" at around 5.1K and change per the "Gearing Commander" website. Back in the late 80s I owned an '83 Honda XL600 (which was a wheelie monster of a bike) and my rose colored memory of that bike is that it cruised at 70-75 on the freeway easily. Sure enough, I looked up the gearing for the XL and it was quite a bit taller than the 690 platform bike's 15/46 sprockets. I swapped my 701's sprockets to 16/45, which allows use of the stock chain, and the resulting overall ratio is almost identical to my old XL600. Now my 701 has "legs" and it's Rottweiler enhanced engine pulls gear to gear beautifully and it cruises easy at 70 and taching 432 RPM less or around 4.7K per the Gearing Commander site. Acceleration is seemingly undaunted by the gearing change as it lifts the front end in 2nd (as shown in my video) and rips past 100 in no time. It also feels better going through the gears, covering ground with it's longer legs in a pleasing way. So it is better on the street and open spaces with the taller gearing - how's it gonna be off road? Way too tall right? By way of background, I'm a "B" desert racer and ride a KTM 300 XC as my dirt bike, so I'm not the fastest guy around, but I actually ride my 701 off road. The Colorado stuff I ride my 701 on is not easy dirt roads and two track stuff, I ride actual semi gnarly off road with it. To surprise, I like it better off road with the 16/46 sprockets. At trail speeds of 15 to just over 20 MPH, it felt between 1st and 2nd gear. Now 1st has more legs and 2nd is really fun after 20 MPH, hanging out the rear end under power happens more controllably. At very slow speeds the clutch needs to be slipped but it was always that way, I honestly don't really notice the difference there with all the off idle torque these have, especially with the tuning, which really beefs up the low and midrange RPM part throttle "brappy zone" running. It is also interesting to note that the regeared taller 1st is about the same as what an 890 runs, while the 890 still has a much taller 6th. The Gearing Commander site is fun to play on... Another good mod that I don't see often is stiffer fork springs. The stockers on my '23 model are .59 kg/mm vs. the shock at .72, which is very unbalanced. I replaced the stockers with .65 springs and the forks are much better, riding higher in the stroke and not feeling like pogo sticks when I attack bumps. The only oddity is I have to run rebound full stiff to control the heavier springs, but they feel quite good now with that plush but firm feeling I crave. I am in line for a Renazco suede saddle in October, my aching ass is looking forward to that. Love my 701, I like to say it sucks on road and off equally, but the tradeoff is it really can do it all good enough 😆

So this promo video is for OBEST Motorcycle Camera Dash Cam MT35 (amazon for $130) but no instructions, no Real manufacturer website, no real warranty i could find. The VSYSTO S2F is very similar, at 170 does have instructions but all these 'types' are prolly all using same guts but real info is not available. YMMV cheap no support cams unless one can afford the gopro type brands.... buyer beware!

Riding south on Whitley -- rode an HP2 there years ago. Now, it shares the garage with a 690 Enduro R.
